== Robust Guide ==

=== Gearing up ===

Once you spawn in, head directly to the detectives office which will be nearby security or randomly scattered around the station check a station map to find your office. Open up your locker which will look like a wardrobe grab your Bloodtrak, Forensic Scanner, and Forensic pads. You can head to security for any additional equipment you might need and the Warden can supply you with more 45. magnum.
{| class="wikitable sortable"
|+
! Item !! Description
|-
| Forensic Scanner|| When scanning a item the forensic scanner will pop up a list which includes the fingerprints and DNA's of everyone that interacted with the scanned object, as well as a separate list of all the glove fibers found on the object. You can use the criminal records computer and match the DNA with the criminal.
|-
| Forensic Pad|| Pads are single use items that can be used on either an ungloved suspect, or on a set of gloves. If used on a suspect they provide that suspects unique fingerprint code, which can be used to match with evidence found by the forensics scanner at a crime scene. If used on gloves the forensic pad will instead show the fibers of that specific glove.
|-
| BloodTrak|| A handheld tracking device, capable of tracking someone from their DNA. Use it on a puddle of blood to begin tracking a target for a short amount of time. This can be extremely useful if the crime just happened.
|-
| Logprobe|| A program for getting access logs from devices. pre-installed in a detective PDA or installed with a logprobe cartridge located in the detectives locker. Let's you see anyone that accessed the door and when.
|}

=== How do I get evidence? ===

Firstly, many things cause DNA residue to be left behind. For example scanning a body will reveal the DNA of anyone who hugged or dragged them. An object used to strike someone will have the victim's DNA, and any object a person picks up will have their DNA unless they wore gloves otherwise it will leave fibers. However, all DNA can be scrubbed off using soap.

Second way to get evidence is by using your logprobe located in your PDA. If you know where the criminal was recently at you can try scanning all the doors around or leading to that area to see who went by there most recently.

Forensics are not the only way to gain information on a case. Be sure to (try to) interview bystanders to see if they saw anything, and to check your radio logs. You never know when a specific tidbit helps you catch your guy. You can keep notes in your PDA or on paper when you start to get overwhelmed.
