An Overview

Trauma Station takes place in a universe where Nanotrasen is “far more powerful and far more dystopian.” Therefore, this lore aims to clarify why this universe is darker and ruled by a far more powerful corporate regime. This means the theme must stay consistent, or the lore will clash and become confusing. Given the aforementioned goal, there are some more serious set pieces (fall of democracy, wars, terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, imperialistic nations, spacism, tools of oppression). Still, given the chaos of SS14, there are also silly, wacky set pieces (magic, psionics, wacky antagonists, exploding tomatoes, Demons coming of the walls, etc.). The combination should create the best of both worlds, but it can easily get out of hand if not careful. So, it should be kept in mind that the lore is made with the intention of creating a world that you can choose to immerse yourself in, but not be a dogma that everyone must adhere to strictly. You are a Corp-Civ; pretty much a corporate wage-slave, you are a nobody to the interstellar governments that rule over you. Correcting people's knowledge of the world, unless it's egregious, matters less than the nukie who just launched a rocket at you.

Timeline

1900s

• 1951 - The Korean War starts and ends in much the same year, a disaster for the United States, which inhumanely used silent bombs, hurting the United States ' credibility.
• 1960 - Japan becomes a rival economic power.
• 1970 - Nanotrasen forms as a South African mining company before switching over to data technology years later.
• 1971 - The Pacific Treaty Organization forms, with Japan as its leader.
• 1983 - The Mogheans enter the space age

2000s

• 2012 - The Moghean generational fleets would head for Thirpia
• 2018 - Kepler satellite lost contact after entering a gravity anomaly; the cover-up was that it ran out of fuel. A team of astronauts would also get sucked in, and over the next few decades they would send more and more teams. These teams would make it through to a paradise world, but would be deformed vertically, becoming dwarves
• 2032 - WW3 starts over American freshwater reserves, and international material exploitation
• 2034 - WW3 ends in a stalemate; Europe federalizes under the EU.
• 2050 - Gadusi-uyo would be considered colonized
• 2055 - First contact with the Vox occurs after a raider ship crashes in North America; to prevent panic, it is covered up, and America, Russia, and the EU meticulously study the technology.
• 2065 - Space is commercialized as the first corporate vessel takes off; its plans are then stolen and refitted by various organizations to catch up.
• 2072 - Fear of ecological devastation, resource scarcity, and a lack of living space drives demand to colonize the nearest planet to Earth, starting the race to Mars. In the same year, the Moghean nations would consider their generation fleets to be lost.
• 2081 - A warp drive malfunction causes the generation ships sent to Kepler-62 to vanish off the face of the galaxy. The event becomes known as the Kepler Incident and starts the search for warp alternatives. Little did humanity know, the fleets would reach their planet mutated and deformed. Survivors would become the Mothpeople

2100s

• 2100 - Mars is made habitable by a network of underground tunnels and early terraforming.
• 2109 - Moghes would finally recreate a greenspace slip.
• 2101 - WW4 starts, a cold war between the functioning superpowers and fears of being left behind.
• 2123 - Moghes begins Extra-Gadusi Exploration, explorers would arrive at Thirpia.
• 2124 - Moghean Explorers make contact with the Generational Fleet Thotoss.
• 2153 - People from the Middle East and Europe, fearing nuclear annihilation, leave en masse for the colonies inside and outside the Sol system.
• 2168 - WW4 goes hot, destroying much of the Earth and severing the Sol colonies from their former governments.
• 2170 - The Global North is uninhabitable, but thanks to Nanotrasen, the Global South remains largely untouched; the northern exodus begins. The Japanese government gives the all-clear.
• 2172 - The Japanese Government secures their mainland
• 2174 - Japan envelops Taiwan and Australia, and works with the Philippines and Malaysia
• 2182 - The Great Asian Reforming begins
• 2185 - The Great Reforming gives rise to the Zaibatsu.
• 2187 - World Prosperity Spheres form
• 2191 - The combined military of the WPS would conquer remaining Asia and southeastern Russia.
• 2194 - Made up of the former agencies and corporations of the northern powers, the UCSH forms under the fealty of Nanotrasen

2200s

• 2205 - The Great Asian reform continues to reform Asia into the Japanese image; State Shinto is established.
• 2208 - The Moghes Unification wars would begin
• 2220 - The Moghes Unification wars would end, great nations like Donai and Kiskas would fall.
• 2222 - The Greater Moghean Empire forms under the rule of three powerful dynasties: the Zosko, the Dartezi, and the Ajuti.
• 2284 - First contact with the Slime Hivemind, and subsequent discovery of phoron and its properties by UCSH.
• 2297 - UCSH launches a full-scale invasion into the Slime Hivemind territories, capturing phoron mining colonies on the edges of Slime space.
• 2297 - After a century of rebuilding and reforming the wastes of Earth, the governments of Earth work together to retake their lost territories. Together, they form the first major Aeroforce fleet.
• 2299 - Several satellites in orbit around Earth suddenly change course and crash. This has led to the discovery of Atrapos, second moon of Earth with completely black surface.

2300s

• 2300 - The Radical NeoSov commune of Mars forms a pact with the independent colonies as Earth attempts to make its presence known.
• 2301 - An expedition is sent to Atrapos by World Prosperity Spheres. Contact is lost shortly after landing, and a mysterious series of events causes the First Tear of the veil between planar space and the Noosphere. Atrapos disappears entirely, and bluespace crystals are scattered over the entire galaxy, facilitating quick development of bluespace travel by every interstellar civilization.
• 2305 - Vox raiders, looking for the lost vessel centuries prior, stumble upon the extrasolar colonies of Tau Ceti and Alpha Centauri; fighting breaks out.
• 2307 - The independent colonies, once simple administrations, form “true governments” to assert their independence, creating bodies such as the Jovian League, the Neptunian Confederation, and the Plutonian Republic.
• 2311 - The Colonists of the extrasolar colonies would route the Vox raiding party; Tau Ceti would be renamed Cetiburghow in remembrance.
• 2334 - Failing to secure peaceful annexation from Mars, the fleet finally sets out to the Mars orbital regime and destroys the Communal Aeroforce only three days later. The Communal government resisted surrender, so UCSH forces launched their first great planetkiller on the southern half of Mars: phoron bombs. They immediately vaporized 90 million, and the Communal Government was no more.
• 2335 - Fearing the same fate as half of Mars, all the independent colonies surrendered to Earther forces. Those who feared losing democratic liberalism to despotic regimes fled with Europan statesman Juhana Mäkinen, beginning the Terran Expulsion.
• 2337 - Democratic nations still left in Sol officially transitioned into the more despotic model. Martian rebellions continue.
• 2340 - Entire sol system is intergrated into the UCSH and the World Prosperity Spheres
• 2365 - Sol system starts to enter UCSH acceptable profit margins
• 2339 - The Cetian Government proclaimed itself Terra Union and made Tau Ceti-e the capital world, christening it Erdeschlösser
• 2339 - Portions of Mars, and all of Venus, Jupiter, and Pluto are nationalized under the WPS.
• 2340 - Human Space Accords are ratified by the WPS and reluctantly accepted by the UCSH
• 2350 - Terra Union would establish an official charter and system core: Cetiburghow (Tau Ceti), Proxima Kentarus (Alpha Centauri), and Ran’s steed (Epsilon Eridani).
• 2360 - The New Human Unified Language of Earthgen becomes to official trade language, before the rise of corporate standard by Nanotrasen.
• 2363 - The Terran Inner System is formed, holding the systems Speculoo (TRAPPIST-1) and Leonis (Wolf 359).

2400s

• 2403 - Terran Union would establish a colony on Kepler-442 b, being more than 1000 light-years away from Earth; it would be considered the first planet in the Terran Outer System
• 2405 - The Sadira system would be colonized
• 2462 - The Mothpeople are discovered by the Terran Union Wayfinder Corps on Kepler-62 and are subsequently forced off the planet by the Terran Aeroforce
• 2468 - First recorded cyberattack by the Contiguity Initiative on a UCSH facility.

2500s

• 2513 - Terra Union first discovers the Decapoids; initially uninterested, they find valuable resources on the planet and try to strike a deal with them to terraform it. They reluctantly disagree, much to the Terran Union's anger
• 2515 - The Decapoid Pacification starts and ends in the same year, with the Alkesh homeworld glassed and cracked. The Decapoids are given ships as settlement and kicked out of the system. The absorption of Alkesh sparks an outrage in the Terran Fringe
• 2520 - The Terran Fringe colonies start rebelling; the Council gives the Military emergency powers to suppress the rebellion
• 2521 - The Sadira System succeeds from the Terran Union, being the first of two successful successions.
• 2525 - The Sadira Succession leads to the formation of the Sunna Core
• 2531 - Under New Darwin, the Invidia Cooperative is able to kick out the Terran Union and UCSH with mutated Bengal tigers. It would be reformed into a religious order and be renamed The Tiger Cooperative
• 2546 - Bluespace Drives would become commonplace in Moghean Space; the 2nd Moghean Expansion occurs.
• 2550 - Greater Moghes seizes the Northern Wilds
• 2552 - Jaska and Yous-nou would be taken from Greater Moghes and would fall into the hands of its rivals.
• 2589 - Greater Moghes would secure the Northern Cluster and begin development. Fearing Domination, the rival superstates would start a series of covert conflicts to hamper progress.

2600s

• 2633 - Greater Moghes finishes development of the Northern Mid-Ring, securing their position within their core systems.
• 2643 - The Syndicate liberates Mars from centuries of UCSH rule.
• 2624 - New Darwin lies on his deathbed due to toxic exposure.
• 2629 - Miraculously, New Darwin would recover, exclaiming that "The only truth of the galaxy is evolution!" Believing he had evolved into a higher form, many operatives underwent extensive gene-modding to attempt the same “ascension.” Giving rise to the three-eyed, monster-man reputation
• 2683 - Greater Moghes crosses into the Orion Arm, specifically monitoring the minor spurs of Revolutions Rest and Kazzadona Minor.

2700s

• 2702 - Greater Moghes begins their invasion of Revolutions rest, starting with New Huchion.
• 2705 - New Huchion is successfully captured by Greater Moghes
• 2716 - The New Rajin system would fall under Greater Moghes, with planets New Manpo, New Rason, and New Guyon being renamed to Sou-eors, Kyroous, and Xakjs-po, respectively. New Rajin is renamed to Ueu-Eskos.
• 2718 - New Uiwang and New Suwon would be seized by Greater Moghes.
• 2719 - Imperial forces kick the Super Republic of Greater Korea out of Revolutions' rest.
• 2725 - Using Greenspace, the Greater Moghean Empire skip-jumps to Luna and attempts an invasion, taking the UCSH by surprise; they barely destroy them in lower orbit. It becomes a terrible PR incident for them. Combined human forces would liberate Revolutions' rest, and a peace deal would be signed with the alien nation.
• 2726 - Terra Union Declares the Greater Moghean Empire to be a "Threat to humanity", being the third nation to receive such a title.
• 2738 - The Natural Insectoid Nation, or NIN, is destroyed by combined human forces, ending the Great Nomad Wars
• 2756 - The free Commonwealth of Cargal, in fear of retribution from the Terra Union after succeeding, detonates a planet-cracking device that kills 90% of Cargals' population and much of the policing fleet.
• 2757 - Outraged by the Cargal Massacre, Chief Adrm. Arhman Mcdunman declares martial law and suspends the Terran Council. Utilizing Terran Law, forms a Stratocracy enshrined in the charter and crowns himself the Arbiter of Humanity and Admiral of the Stars
