Paramedic

Paramedic is a role in the medical department tasked with monitoring the health of station crew and assisting or rescuing the injured or dead to be treated in Medbay as required.

To accomplish this, paramedics are given access to dedicated equipment such as a Paramedic PDA with which comes with a medtek cartridge installed allowing use as a health analyzer, paramedic lockers that contain a Paramedic Hardsuit Selector for safely retrieving critical or dead crew members from hazardous environments, a GPS for tracking down casualties outside the station, and EMT belts from vending machines that contain equipment such as the Handheld Crew Monitor for checking crew health while away from the main crew monitoring console in medbay, and a medical cartridge autoinjector with a selection of cartridges to quickly administer treatment to casualties to stabilise injuries in an emergency.

It is a good idea to carry a folded rollerbed and body bag in the backpack as a paramedic. The rollerbed can be used to more easily transport conscious or critical patients to medbay, and the body bag can be used to bring a dead crew member to medbay while also delaying the rotting process.

Paramedics have Medical, Maintenance and Externals access to retrieve people from obscure areas inside and outside the station, but still need either a co-operative member of staff of a department or additional access granted from the Head of Personnel to be able to retrieve casualties from inside other departments.
